If this is your first time inquiring about custom letterpress cards, I am more than happy to answer questions and guide you through the process. There are some things that I wish someone had told me when I started:
Due to the nature of letterpress printing, it's highly cost ineffective to do small quantities of cards. As a result, I have a minimum order of 50 cards. If you need less than 50, that's totally fine! I still want to work with you. But the minimum quantity and pricing still apply, so you'll end up with 50 cards when it's all said and done.
Multiple colors of ink are labor intensive. For each color ink on a letterpress card, the printer runs the card through the press a corresponding number of times. So, if your card has two ink colors on it, I'll be touching each card twice on its way through the press. This is the life of a printer! But the result is that the more colors on your card, the more it costs.
I use Crane's bright white envelopes with my cards, which are really nice envelopes that perfectly complement the weight of the stock the card is printed on. Blank envelopes are included in the price. If you want to letterpress print your return adress on the envelopes, that's totally possible (and classy!), for an extra charge.
Generally, turnaround time is about 3 weeks. This time includes the following: finalizing your design, fabricating plates, printing your cards, and shipping them to you.
Faster turnaround time (2 weeks or less) is possible, especially if you have your designs ready to go when you get in touch; there is a 25% rush fee for this service.
