Meet the new store

Posted on March 01, 2012 by Matt Raw

Well, we finally outgrew the original Code Cards site. I'll miss it a little bit. I stitched the site together with Twitter Bootstrap, Amazon S3, and Google Checkout over a few nights last November. And it worked pretty well: managing the site was a pain, but the end user experience was pretty awesome considering how little effort I put into it, thanks to Twitter Bootstrap.

At any rate, that site was never intended to last as long as it did, and now that I've had a chance to catch my breath, I've been able to focus on moving the site to Shopify.

What does this mean?!

For me, this means no more finding-and-replacing snippets of HTML in 10 different documents whenever I want to add a new product. For you, there are numerous benefits:

  • Smoother checkout, now handled by Shopify's secure servers. You are no longer required to use Google Checkout, though you still can if you like.
  • There is a mobile-optimized version of the site, thanks to the responsively designed theme from Out of the Sandbox
  • Really cool credit card badges at the bottom of the page. Seriously, aren't those cool? Don't they instill trust?

As always, thanks for all the support, it's been an amazing couple of months since the launch. Never hesitate, always get in touch with any questions, comments, or issues with the new site—matt@campbellrawpress.com.
